New footage of Speebot tropical levels

Posted by keyreal - May 10th, 2017

Hi again,

I made some progress on my game Speebot! The last few weeks I've been working on the World 2 of the game, which is an Antarctic themed area. Head over to my blog to see some screenshots of that.

This week I've begun working on World 3, which is a tropical vacation themed area! Check it out:

What do you think?

I'm still thinking of new gameplay mechanics for this world, so let me know if you have any ideas!

Cool! It reminds me of old N64 platformers like Bomberman 64. What platform are you going to release it for? Also, do you mind if I ask which programming language you're using? I want to try making a game sooner or later, but I don't know where to start.

Thanks! I'm planning to release on Windows and Linux, and later possibly on portable platforms.

I'm writing it in Haxe. I actually am the owner and author of all Haxe tutorials at haxecoder.com, which you might find useful. I published various tutorials on how to make different types of games using Haxe and the different frameworks that exist for it. It's recommended that you understand Object Oriented Programming principles before you begin. If you're interested, start here: http://haxecoder.com/post.php?id=8 Good luck!
